Cancer Prevention:

One of the most dangerous diseases threatening human life is cancer. Everyone is terrified when they hear this disease because it is a disease that is difficult to control, as cancerous cells multiply excessively and uncontrollably. It is very unfortunate to mention how quickly they invade nearby body cells and spread to other organs without control. Therefore, it is very important to follow cancer prevention methods and reduce the risk of developing various types of cancer.

Some people always wonder about cancer:

"Is cancer contagious?" In the traditional sense of contagious diseases transmitted through breathing, touch, sharing objects, or kissing, cancer cannot be contagious in this way. However, some of the viruses mentioned above, such as HIV, hepatitis B, and other contagious viruses, increase the risk of cancer, but cancer itself is not contagious.

Therefore, Scientists have studied many different ways to help prevent cancer, including the following:

Eating a Healthy Diet: Include more fresh fruits and vegetables in your daily diet, as well as plant-based foods such as whole grains.

Maintaining a Healthy Weight: Maintain a healthy weight by choosing lower-calorie foods and limiting sugars and animal fats.

Limiting Alcohol consumption: Excessive alcohol consumption increases the risk of breast, colon, and lung cancer.

Quitting Smoking: Various types of tobacco cause cancers such as mouth and throat cancer, lung cancer, and pancreatic cancer. Make the decision to quit smoking and protect yourself from the risk of cancer.

Taking doses of various vaccines: Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine: Helps protect women from uterine cancer and other types of cancer. Hepatitis B vaccine: Protects against liver cancer.

Limiting your intake of processed meats: The World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer has confirmed that total reliance on processed meats increases the risk of some types of cancer.

Avoiding Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to sunlight exposes the skin to skin cancer, which is the most common type. Therefore, avoid strong sunlight during the midday hours between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. by:

   - Wearing protective eyewear.

   - Covering exposed areas of skin.

   - Applying sunscreen every two hours.

   - Avoiding sunlamps, as they are just as harmful as natural sunlight.

Regular Self-Examination: Self-examination helps in the early detection of some types of cancer, such as regular breast examinations to detect any lumps or abnormal changes in the breast. Constant skin examinations and ongoing medical follow-up help in the early detection of cancer and initiating appropriate treatment in its early stages.

●    Avoiding Contagion: Try to avoid transmission of certain viruses, as some viruses increase the risk of liver cancer, such as HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C.

You can avoid transmission by:

●    Avoid sharing syringes contaminated with the blood of someone infected with the virus.

●    Avoid blood transfusions from someone infected with the virus to another person.

●    Avoid sexual intercourse with someone infected with the virus.

●    Transmission of the virus from an infected mother to her child before or during birth.

By following the previous cancer prevention tips, you can protect yourself and your family from the risk of cancer.
